Would anybody happen to know which guitars are primarily used for jazz music? I`ve seen people use Les Pauls, hollowbodys, semi-hollowbodys, and even strats. I`m planning on getting a guitar and am wondering which is the best.

It actually doesn`t matter what guitar you use. Many Jazz players use Electric/acoustics. I think they are too specialized because chances are you`ll want to experiment with other styles. If you are about to get your first "serious" electric you cannot go past a Fat Telecaster. A versatile and reliable guitar with a fast neck which will serve you well across a wide range of styles. It`s got a mellow sounding humbucker in the neck position and a twangy single coil in the bridge. You can make anything sound Jazzy. Focus more on your playing and less on the equipment. Hope this helps...
