It`s a matter of personal prefference really. Both are great.

Personally, I like the tenor better, but that`s `cause it`s my main instrument.

i just rented a tenor yesterday for jazz band. i started on alto for a couple of months. i prefer the tenor sax because it has a more mello sound. its all personal preference.

I think all the saxes are good for jazz. I learned to play the soprano from a jazz master, Kenny G. So it`s more of a preference, but u need to play the alto and tenor, b4 the soprano

Hey, I`m 13 and I`ve been playing the alto sax for 4 years now. I say if you practice your scales and do long tones in tune, you will get a lot better!

and about the subject - i think we cant talking about what is better: tenor or alto, because everyone have different power and body. I now the men who can`t play on alto, simple it was to small for him but when he takes bari it was really good. When i strated i would play on alto but my teacher gave my tenor and now i`m really happy, its the best instrument for me.

/// i can make many mestakes in my posts but i dont speak eng so good that you have to forgive my that
