I am born and raised Beatles fan. There song writing so much better then any other band. I think Led Zeppelin is a bit overrated they had a great drummer, bassist, and guitarist, but Roberts Plants voice is so damn annoying.

They are the best, one of a kind talent, style, musicianship, performance and production and engineering, that makes most bands look like complete neophytes in comparison. After the Floyd performed at LIVE 8 their record sales jumped 2000 percent world wide. There is nothing like them. They appeal to all demographics, with albums that were on the charts for ten years. Their music hits something in people that isnt just limited to rock. You can find people you like country, pop, jazz, r&b and they will also like the Floyd. Not a passing phase, but like a fine wine they improve with each listening. Take a couple hours of your lives and watch the brand new, about to be released DVD of PULSE, their 1994 concert in all its glory and see if it doesnt stand up to anything out there today in musicianship, performance etc. I had my 74 year old dad take a spin on some it a few weeks ago, and he said, I like this! I wish there was more music out ther like this. LOL! His favorite sound happens to be old country and gospel albums. The Floyd is one of a kind.

Best rock band is obviously and unquestionably the Rolling Stones. They've been around longer than anyone else, had more hits than anyone else, had more influence than anyone else and are still !***** going. Just think of it like this, if you had all the greatest ever rock bands play at some fantasy dream festival and each started at the same time, which group would be able to play longer and have a crowd rockin for the longest time while the rest have had to pack up and go home...the stones of course.

I'm more for Southern Rock. Like, The Marshall Tucker Band, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grand Funk Railroad, ECT. But I do listen to some Metal, Punk and Classic Rock. Basically I like almost all the bands listed so far EXCEPT Green Day, MCR, and Slip Knot. Those bands need to die.
