cartman. on the first page of this thread you said that soundgarden should not be included because of the fact that they are grunge and are not heavy.

1. you have alice in chains on your list, a band that falls into the catagory of grunge in every way possible.
2. soundgarden = heavy. pure and simple
3. rainbow.... are you kiding me? serriously man. you do realise their most famous song is 'since you been gone'? how are they heavy?

I will agree that Soundgarden undeniably falls under the category metal/hard rock.

If Jesus Christ Pose and Outshined aren't hard rock, I don't know what is.

Everybody who posts a comment or list on here should realize that pussy grunge bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, etc.) and !*****! punk bands (Sex Pistols, Clash, Misfits, etc.) don't deserve a spot on a hard rock list. Get over It!! We know the music world sucks when bands like Pearl Jam are put on a higher pedestal in the hard rock / heavy metal world than Judas Priest... What the Hell!!!

This is a true metalhead's list of the 50 greatest hard rock/metal bands, and if you don't like it... Piss off!!:

I think there should be no contest for the number one slot:
Led Zeppelin
Or maybe instead:
Led Zeppelin
I don't know, I was just thinking something like...:
Led Zeppelin

Get the picture?

I also would like to add one more thing: Led Zeppeln.
No, but seriously though. I honestly don't think that Van Halen should be number two. I mean, they had a few good tracks, I suppose. But, for the most part, Eddie jumped around way too much to make a solid song. Let me give you a few of my suggestions for the list now:
1. Led Zeppelin
2. AC/DC
3. Pink Floyd
4. Jimi Hendrix
5. The Doors
6. Lynyrd Skynyrd
7. Rolling Stones
8. The Who
9. Steppenwolf
10.Black Sabbath

After that, its pretty much all up in the air.

I love Pink Floyd, don't get me wrong, but since when are they hard rock? They were more of a mix of progressive and psychedelic rock.

Ozzy is already on there when you say Black Sabbath, there is no need to put him in twice.
.
A lot of the classic band on here I don't consider hard rock, and are out of order if you classify them as such. Whatever floats your boat
