Well their lyrics do have meaning if you know why Ryan wrote them then I bet you wouldn't say they don't have meaning. I think Panic! is awesome and they aren't the same as Fall Out Boy or anything. To me they're totally different, which is why I like them. That's just my opinion and I think everyone here should respect others opinions.

I agree with rushisqueer. I don't know why only people who like patd can post their opinion. The Question was, and I quote, "Who here likes patd?" not, "If you like patd would you post here!!!" I don't care about them and that's my opinion. If you don't like my opinion, well, don't comment on it!!!!!!

Nobody here said that Panic! lovers are the only ones who can express their opinions.

Tool and I started a debate on how her biased opinions weren't proving her point any better than a 5 year old can tell the difference between good and bad.
You simply came to the conlcusion that only Panic! lovers can express their opinions due to the "heated" debate we were having.

We aren't holding back anyone's post, but keep in mind that this is a Panic! topic so flamage is a possibility.

Please don't rush to conclusions next time.
Read through the topic first, then make your interpretation on the whole matter.

An opinion goes both ways. Disliking Panic! At the Disco is also a valid opinion. Most of the personal attacks done on this tread were said by PATD fans when someone said they hated the band. Attacking someone for saying they dislike a band is also disrespecting someone's opinion. The topic is labeled "PANIC AT THE DISCO" which means anyone can reply, even the ones who dislike them. So when someone says they hate the band they arn't disrespecting you're opinion, they're simply placing their own. Flaming them for saying their opinion because it contradicts your own is very hypocritical.

Another thing; "biased" means to favor one thing or person over another. There is no possible way to Like or dislike a band without being biased.

<Added>

I read the entire thread, so don't try and say I jumped to conclusions or something, because I understood all the posts pretty well.

im NOT a fan, the music round now a days is !****!, compard to mid 90's, Oasis, blur...etc radiohead ETC the only band round today that compare is Kasabian. music in my view has gone down hill. i mean imagine if Oasis came out now like they did in '94. they wud be even more popular. and like they have just won best band on the planet and they are classed as 'in the past music' just shows there greatness! and contrbution towards music. with the highest ever selling debut album etc. anyway went a bit off track but PATD are !***! basically. cheers

I never said disliking or liking Panic! is biased, it's the mere fact that Tool_Fan is using her OWN biased opinions to prove her point (This is not biased, it's, in fact, a proven point made possible by the wonderful world of literature and vocabulary).

I understand your point Penny.

I really liked the band when heard on the radio. But when live they were really bad. It sucks cus I was hoping for so much more from them. It goes to show a good recording engineer & Producer can do anything with any talent. Great Producers behind the band.... The Band themselves just need to spend more time practicing their craft.

Just My 2 cents

I found this messageboard while searching for Panic! sheet music and just felt the urge to join in.

I never listened to Panic! until I saw them live. I went to see The Dresden Dolls, who were opening for Panic. And I really really was impressed with their live show. I got their cd and it's a really fun cd. If their music doesn't make you want to get up and dance around, you must be one of those dark, sad people who huddle in a corner all day.

Their music is not emo. It has this fun cabaret-style thing going on. It's so refreshing to hear their kind of music. I am the music director at a college radio and I get over 60 new cd's a week, the majority of which are "indie rock." Talk about sounding like another band. At times, they all start to sound the same. I'm not saying they're bad - so many of them are awesome. But there's just too many indie rockers.

Whoever said to go listen to Zeppelin / ACDC / Metallica...you're living in the past. I used to be like that - "OOOOH Pink Floyd!" But now I know that it's great to appreciate their music, but it's wrong to say that there will never be music as good as theirs. There are so so so many awesome bands out their right now that are under the radar. The Dresden Dolls, The Hush Sound, The Vincent Black Shadow, The Dears, Sparklehorse, Ben Kweller, Jack's Mannequin, Straylight Run, Regina Spektor, Copeland, Cold War Kids, Jonzetta, The Decemberists, The Zutons, Moros Eros, Gym Class Heroes, Cursive, The Black Keys. I could go on forever. I think it's a waste to listen to just classic stuff.

For all you Panic! lovers...I'm watching them right now. They're the guests on Steven's Untitled Rock Show. They're so adorable and so humble and shy. Brendon said that he thinks their music is overplayed and he doesn't like it. If I was a few years younger...

Ahh I missed PWT's? Bummer. I just started listening to them recently, they're not bad. I wish I had to capability to record and put on my computer. I'm working on getting a DVD burner so I can put my videos from concerts on DVD.

Another thing I thought of - to say you hate a band solely because they sound like another band is just ridiculous. When you find a band who sounds absolutely like no one else, let me know. And I'll prove you wrong.

Personally, I think Panic! sounds more like The Hush Sound (in songs with the male singer, not Greta) than FOB.

Another sidenote - when we learned about panic disorder in psych class, I had to add the ! after panic each time. Just because I think the word looks better with an exclamation point. Don't ya think? Panic! Yep.
