Audioslave split

Cornell is permanently departing super-group Audioslave stating, "Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave. I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors." The break up comes before cornells 2nd solo album in may and Rage Against The Machines reunion gig this summer.

wow. I really thought this thread would get at least one reply. But looks like ppl are more interested in threads about MCR or FOB.

sry, i havent been on 8notes in a long time(Pc Crash). If u ask me it doesnt matter if Audioslave splits, Chris Cornell is WAAAAAAAAAAAY much betther in Soundgarden. Not in negative minds. I syggest a recruit plan Sjgamer, 8 Notes rock music Forum need it.

I wasn't terribly disappointed by the news that Audioslave split. Way back before the first disc came out, I was kind of stoked about the idea of Chris Cornell getting together with three-fourths of Rage Against The Machine. But even though the band sounded pretty much like what you'd expect a band with former Soundgarden and RATM members to sound like, I kind of felt that they didn't really...well...how should I put this?...transcend that! I kind of expected the whole to exceed the sum of its parts, you know?

Granted, I thought that all three discs Audioslave put out were good, but like many other people, I felt Chris Cornell was at his strongest in Soundgarden.

Now I'm kind of looking forward to Cornell's next solo project. And part of me hopes and prays for the possibility of a Soundgarden reunion at some point in the future. But that would beg the question: If the classic lineup of Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, and Matt Cameron does get back together at some point, then who would play drums for Pearl Jam??

SG will never reform. It's impossible. Ben was the first one to leave and is with 'Hater' now. Kim has disapeared of the face of the Earth. And like you say, Matt is with PJ now. I never believed SG would get back together and thats why I thought Audioslave were so good. I wasn't gonna say no to seeing Cornell and Rage live on stage. The only time I've heard Spoonman, Blackhole sun and Day I Tried to live was at an audioslave show. Apparently Cornells new CD will be mostly acoustic stuff, which sucks. He needs to do more rock.

wow ,this was my favorite band. It was one of the few bands where i could buy their album and enjoy each and every track on it. I hope rage reforms. I know soungarden will probably never reform but that would be cool too.

I didnt understand those last two sentences of that last comment. Did you mean RATM istead of RATG?
