for a living band
guitar- Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen
bass- Les Claypool
drums- Joey Jordison or Mike Wrengren(from Disturbed)
vocals- Mike and Chester from linkin park

If I could included dead people Randy Rhoads would take over for Vai and Malmsteen He was the best past present and future.

RIP Randy

This is gonna vary wildly depending on what your style of music is and what type of song you want. Having grown up around my dad`s record store, I`ve been bred with everything from Iron Maiden to LZ to John Mayall, through Radiohead, Primal Scream and The Smiths :D (I`ve always been a bit of a confused lad...)

Here`s My Perfect Band - only mine just thought I would put my two pennies worth in :D

Vocals 1: Thom Yorke; capable of such variation, from synths and background vox to gut wrenching power (the yelp in "Creep" is awe inspiring)

Vocals 2: Freddie Mercury; incredible voice through all range, also most creative and innovative

Guitar 1: Eric Clapton; A legend in our time, no-one quite like him for bluesy improvisations and straight rock.

Guitar 2: Slash; pure pure power, brings something completely different to the stage and is capable of blowing anything away - solo in "November Rain"

Bass: Flea; over the last 20 years one of the most brilliant bassists in the world, still going strong. Live performances are mind blowing, and also plays the trombone :P

Drums: John Bonham; amazing power, instinctive playing, and an ability to read the music before most mean Bonham gives an unmistakeable rhythm and pulse that LZ thrived off

Any thoughts?

Vocalist: Beck - Beck
Guitarist: Jack White - White Stripes
Bassist: Paul Mccartney - The Beatles
Drummer: Steven Drozd - The Flaming Lips

IMO music isn`t all about being able to shred on the guitar, or playing some crazy shuffle on the drums, music is all about FEELING. BTW Rush is the most overrated band EVER.

Vocals : Geoff Tate (Queensryche)
Guitar : Jimi Hendrix, Edward Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen
Bass : Chris Squire (Yes), Timmy C. (RATM), John Entwhistle (The Who)
Drummer : NEIL PEART (Rush)

Thats mine....

Everything can be argued on this list... except Neil Peart, he cannot be surpassed in the art of drumming.... ever.

To the gentlemen with the diatribe that Neil pearts playing is hackneyed that is the dumbest comment of all time thing become hack when others copy them YOU think he is hack because all of the others copy him. I would agree with you on say Mike Portnoy I like dreamthear but they have no soul or spirit they are just simply great player in a power band
