Hello!

I`m having my very first lesson of violoncello next month (I used to play piano for 8 years) and I would like to learn more about an instrument before I start to play. Can anyone help me with advice or give me a link to some webpage? I`m also curious abost things like is it hard to carry it arround (on the bus, when it is rain), how to clean the bow after use.

Thanks a lot!

Okie...I see...Maybe U should first decide 1.what type of instrument to buy. 2. What kind of case/outfit to use. 3. Read up on maintenance 4. read up on posture and related pains problem. 5. Learn to rosin a new bow with a new rosin 6. Learn how to hold the bow, sit correctly, and leave the rest to a teacher.
Pls go to this website`s discussion board. BTW, they do sell pretty good quality but cost efficient instruments also. http://www.stringworks.com/discussion/default.htm
They have a lot of threads/topics open for discussion. Or u can simply post a thread there. It`s pretty active there.
