Does anyone know any double bass concertos or some sort of string ensemble where the bass has most of the melody, or even solos?

Hi Katie, I think there are definately Vivaldi concertos for double bass, I have heard a performance of one the slow movements before. Quite melodic but going of Vivaldi`s style of composistion I reckon the other movements would be up-tempo.

Also a Scottish composer Eddie McGuire wrote a concerto for Bass, Koussevitzky also wrote a cocnerto for bass.

I`m not sure about others, I`ll keep my eyes open.
