I have joined a small local orchestra and desire to know what peices I may recommend that are best for trumpet. I have been subjected to Haydn and Britten and Faure and would like to suggest something more appealing to the brass section. Not that I don`t like Haydn but Haydn doesn`t like me. I seek a listing of trumpet pieces `to die for` similar to what I found in a search of French Horn websites.

I don`t know of any list, as you suggest. But there are some composers which brass- section players "die for" Check out composers like Bruckner, Mahler, Wagner, Verdi, Brahms etc..
