Sheet Music in 6/8 time
The 6/8 time signature is a compound time signature that's typically associated with lively, upbeat music. It contains six eighth-note (quaver) beats per measure, but these beats are usually grouped into two groups of three, creating a one-two-three, four-five-six feel.
Examples of traditional music in 6/8 time include Irish Jigs, Italian Tarantella and the barcarolle sung by Venetian gondoliers.
